Can I Use Apple Pay After Converting to Metal?
The number one fear: 'Will I lose my digital card?' We explain why your Apple/Google Wallet is safe.

We live in a hybrid world. You want a heavy metal card for dinner dates, but you want Apple Pay for the subway. A common misconception is that destroying your plastic card ruins your digital wallet.
The Chip vs. The Token
Your physical card and your Apple Pay (or Google Wallet) use different systems.
Physical Card: Uses the chip data.
Apple Pay: Uses a digital "token" stored securely on your phone.
The Good News
Converting your card to metal does not affect your Apple Pay at all. In fact, they are the perfect combination. Use your phone for quick, low-value taps, and pull out the heavy metal card when you want to make a statement.
Pro Tip
Make sure you add your card to your digital wallet before you dissolve the plastic card in acetone, just in case you need to verify the CVV code during setup!
