Biometric Metal Cards
The next big wave is Fingerprint Sensors embedded directly into the card. Mastercard is already testing this. Imagine a metal card that only works when your thumb is holding it.
LED Integration
We are starting to see "Light Up" cards where the logo glows when you tap it (powered by the NFC field). Integrating this into solid steel is difficult, but we are experimenting with translucent resin fills.
Why Physical Won't Die
Even with Apple Pay, people love physical objects. Vinyl records came back. Film cameras came back. As the world gets more digital, the desire for heavy, permanent, physical luxury items only grows.
