How it Works: The Faraday Cage

Our cards are made of solid 316L Stainless Steel. In physics, an enclosure used to block electromagnetic fields is called a Faraday Cage.

When your card is in your wallet, the metal layer effectively shields the internal antenna of the chip. If a thief tries to scan your pocket, the radio waves simply bounce off the steel. The signal cannot penetrate to wake up the chip.
